HabitTracker is a personal habit-tracking app. This page explains what data the app handles and how.
Your habits, daily progress, journal entries, mood ratings, and affirmation history are stored locally on your device only. This data is not transmitted anywhere unless you explicitly use the optional features described below.
HabitTracker offers an optional account, powered by Firebase Authentication (email/password or Google sign-in). Creating an account establishes an identity (your email address) but does not, by itself, upload or transmit your habit, journal, or affirmation data.
If you're signed in, a snapshot of your local data (habits, journal, affirmations) is uploaded to a private, per-account location in Google Firebase (Firestore) — both automatically in the background as you use the app, and manually any time via "Back Up Now" in Settings. Signing in on a new or freshly reinstalled device restores your latest backup automatically. This is a snapshot, not live multi-device sync. Only your own signed-in account can access your own backup.
The optional account and cloud backup features are provided by Google Firebase. Firebase's own privacy practices apply to data passing through their infrastructure; see Firebase's privacy documentation.
You can delete individual habits at any time within the app. You can delete your account entirely — which also deletes your cloud backup — from Settings → Account → Delete Account while signed in. Deleting your account does not remove the local data already stored on your device.
HabitTracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised.
